Most Frequently Asked Questions

How often should PAT testing be carried out?

There is no fixed legal interval for PAT testing., however most major insurers require annual testing. The HSE and IET code of practice recommend that testing frequency should be determined through the duty holder’s risk assessment, taking into account the type of equipment and environment, ie. Low-risk office IT equipment may require less frequent testing, every 2-3 years, while higher-risk environments such as construction sites and workshops can typically require  inspection and testing every 3 to 6 months.
